URGENT: PC Will Not Boot - Page 3

check the RAM individually, use each stick in each slot and make sure that neither a stick, nor slot are bad. Aside from that, I would disconnect all devices except the GPU and RAM make sure you can get into bios successfully. If you can go into bios then it's a hard drive issue. The problem could, as others have suggested, also lie in the PSU.

You could also bring your computer close to his so you could actually put your 24 pin connector, or 20 if he needs it, to his pc and see if that makes a difference. Do you still have warrenty? I would suppose not.

I am updating the status of his computer. He finally went out and bought a new PSU a Ultra 600Watt SLI-Ready one and plugged it in and it still did not work.

I went back to testing things and here is what happened:

I took out each stick of ram individually and I never got any POST beeps until I had neither stick in then it just beeped continually off the start.

I unplugged all HDD's and Drives and tried everythin again and never succeeded in getting it to POST.

So I think it is the CPU Guess he'll be buying a new PC

I wish I had found this forum before I started to try to fix my system. I have the same problem just all of a sudden nothing on the screen, it just won't post I switched out psu, video card from fx5500 to a geforce 7800 gsoc, switched out mb, took out memory tried one stick at a time, tried no sticks, got no beeps, tried clearing cmos by taking out the battery and moving the jumper, only thing I havn't tried is the cpu. Does anyone have any other thoughts I havn't tried yet. Any ideas would be awesome.

Well the Sparkel Power PSU came in the system. It was a prebuilt system that he got at Futureshop. I knew they would scam you somewhere. 1) The motherboard could not be upgraded much more. 2) The PSU was junk 3) The original graphics card was crap it was an MX4000.

But as for the computer his new PSU he is planning on just transferring into a new system. So he would have ahd to purchase it anyways.

Another thing which I tried was taking out the battery on the mobo for over 30seconds and that did not fix anything either.
