$99 = Antec Performance One P180 Silver cold rolled steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

$129 = GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard

$79 = Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

$32 = SAMSUNG 18X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe and Software Black IDE Model SH-S182M/BEBM

$114 = Microsoft Windows Vista 64-Bit Home Premium for System Builders Single Pack DVD

$29 =ZEROtherm BTF90 92mm Silent UFO CPU Cooler - Retail

I'll be adding the CPU when the prices drop on the 22nd. Looking at the E6550 or the Q6600. Going to use current RAM and Video Card so I don't need that either right now (next upgrade). I don't burn CD's really so I just wanted a decent combo drive. Does this sound like a good setup?

Don't go with Vista 64-Bit unless you absolutely need it. Seriously, it's such a pain to get some things working in x64. Once I got everything working in my comp, a bunch of security settings were disabled, and it's just not that good. Plus, there's only one good antivirus that works in Vista x64. Go with the 32-bit.

Also, if you can spend an extra $20 or so, get the P35C-DS3R. It supports DDR3 in addition to DDR2 so you can upgrade the memory but keep the board when DDR3 becomes more mainstream.

And you realize you did list a DVD Burner? Not a bad one, though.

Other than that, it looks good. Have fun moving to Core 2 town.

Ya, it's a burner, but it does play DVD/CD's as well right? Thank for the tip on the MB.

Yeah, everything looks well. May want to consider aftermarket cooling if it's in the budget! That way you can ensure yourself of a decent OC with that new C2D!

your build is very similar to mine that i already have or want.

I have the p180 and the zerotherm cooler right now. The cooler came from newegg with bent fans, but i quickly fixed that, and also i was surprised at its weight too. That is the same mobo im looking at too, looks great!

I did, the Zerotherm...

It's cheap, got good reviews, and I'm not a CPU OC'er yet so seems good enough to start with.

Try a SATA DVD/CD burner like this LITE-ON 20X Much faster load times with games, ect. IDE going the way of AGP...

I'd stick with 32-bit Vista for now, I've heard of too many problems with 64 bit. Anyway, you can always upgrade later by calling MS and asking for the 64-bit version. They only charge you shipping (like 10 bucks) if you've registered your current copy.

Everything else looks great.
