I've never heard of the SATA interface actually boosting load times for games, or anything performance related at all with optical drives. Every burner plays CD's and DVD's, by the way.

I have a Sata CD/DVD burner w/ lightscribe and the nice thing is, you just don't have those ugly IDE cables and my installing games send to go faster. Thats just my opinion out of thousands.
