Acording to every thing I can find...and the overclocking data base in this forum...they all seem to top out at close 700MHz on the core(the good ones) no matter what their stock core speed was. I am thinking eVGA is getting rid of the 500MHz model since it appears every 8800GTS can hit the lower 600's at least and that's why they are a good price and have a rebate.

Heh...and if mine comes and tops out at 550MHz it will be going in for RMA as fast as I can get to the UPS store.

only the memory is better sometimes, had a 7600GT the core clocked a lot higher (666/680) @ stock voltage, and 730 V-modded, mem top 1600
and the 7600GT XXX it had different memory than the stock version, but its core crapped out on 630/650 stock voltage,
690 V-modded mem top 900.... just my experience
