This M-Audio any good?

A friend will sell me this for $30, he wants to get a xtremegamer platinum super edition fatal1ty holyfingasscrackers edition x-fi or something.

Is it any good? I listen to a lot of FLACs, and MP3's, and I am a gamer. Will this use EAX?

And, off topic, what is EAX, and how does it make anything better?

I have this sound system:

And I have it set up in surround sound, although, not too many games truly support surround sound.

And finally ... does my system qualify as one you can hear a difference in, if you go from onboard to sound card?

I have a set of z5300's and I heard a difference going to from onboard to X-Fi so... yes.

To answer the EAX question, any non-creative soundcard is only going to be EAX2. X-Fi does EAX5. There is debate to whether or not EAX really does that much but I think it does help in some games. It's just supposed to make sounds match their environment and sound more realistic.
