My E6600 wouldn't run at 400 FSB - Page 3

Sounds like you either need to reapply the TIM, or reseat the heatsink. If that doesnt work, then you have the option of voiding your warranty by lapping the IHS of the E6600, which is more than likely not flat.

do you have any case fans? going by what you said you dont have any, you need case airflow for the heatsink to cool better

Yeah your temps are high. My CPU at 3.5 , 500Mhz FSB, and 1.445 volts is about 55 tops with 100% load. Reapply thermal paste, and reseat the HS see what you get.

@afzsom: I will try to check it later, but when i still use the stock HSF, my cpu temps was 58c, when full load it will go up to 64~65c, after i apply my Zalman 9700NT, my Cpu temps drop to 40c, and 50 when full load, so i assume it is working well?

@Skullzaflare: According to my ASUS ProbII, i don't have any case fan, the only case fan i got is the one with the case i bought, know as Case Fan 3 and have 1400rpm, so you mean i need to install both Case Fan1 and Case Fan2 in order to cool down my system?

@Villainstone: Hmmm...i may try it later, but the HSF really working as i see my Cpu temps drop to 40C at idle and 50c at full load, the stock HSF by intel will score a 65 high temps for me while full load the system.

you built your pc right? inside the case, how many fans do you have other than video card and heatsink.

1 exhaust and 1 intake recommended minimum

Actually, before I installed the Zalman HSF, there's 2 fan inside my case, one in the Case Fan3, another in for cooling the motherboard, I call it Q-FAN, but the problem is, if I need to install my Zalman HSF, i need to remove the Q-FAN, this is what i saw on the memo, both written in the mobo and the zalman memo, this is why i only got 1 case fan inside my case, because the airflow will mess up if i put any case fan near my Zalman 9700nt.

But actually what is the health temperature for the 2 core?
when go up to FSB400, my Cpu temps will go up to 64~65c under full load, Core 1 and Core 2, both of them are at 68~70c, if this normal? or it's quite danger? can anyone give me some advise?
Thanks.

Those temps are kind of high, especially for anything below 1.4vcore.

Edit: NVM, I see you are running the Zalman, those temps just seem high for your vcore, double check how your HSF is mounted.
That's similar to what I was going through when I was first trying to OC my E6300. I had to get it past 450 in order for it to get stable, so I set it at 451 and it was rock stable, and before it wouldn't load Windows all the way befopre crashing.
