New config POSTs but acting strange..

Yo guys,

I just installed my new abit IP-35 and she booted first time

But when I shut her down, after sending the kill signal she fires back up again!!

The delay between kill and boot is about 5 seconds. Is this just a bad FrontPanel connection? Faulty power switch?
Or is it possible the problem could be rooted far deeper?

Cheers!

edit: Oh, also the LED on the board stays on the whole time but as its brand new I dunno if this is normal or not. Probably is.

Did you double check the pins for the front panel buttons, start with basics.

Well I just checked the Front panel power connection to the motherboard header..I tried swapping which wire went to which pin but the problem remains to same.

I have since further observed the behavior of this problem, and I can report the following:

This is a cycle which I have observed on more than 3 separate occasions. I have not yet managed to successfully shut down and halt the computer without killing the power via the switch on the PSU.
  1. Upon flipping the ON switch on the PSU, the power source lamp blinks on as normal and the system remains off.
  2. Upon pressing the power button, the system boots.
  3. Upon selecting 'Shut Down' in XP, the system shuts down, and powers off.
  4. After having shutdown, there is a pause of around 2-3 seconds. The system restores power.
  5. The power remains live for about 4 seconds. No video signal is present.
  6. The power cuts out again for around 3 seconds
  7. The system restores power again and this time POSTs and boots.

Anybody have any clue...it's almost like my PSU is jumping itself ..

I will now triple check all connections (again).
