evga 7950 temp?

hello all.
i was just wondering what is the temp range for a evga 256 7950GT (idle&load)
cause my card runs idle 62c and load 85-90 and im Concerned that it might be to hot.can anyone help me.

yes that is definately high even for that card. i would look at your case cooling and case fan set up. case airflow is more than likely the issue here. unless you have it overclocked.

that seems pretty hot to me, my card doesn't get past about 62 on load

90C is definitely higher than normal. However, what is your ambient temperature in Trinidad and Tobago? How about case temp?

You may want to try reseating the heatsink or turning up the fan speed.

do u think it can be my PSU cause i have some led fans and my PSU is:
500 WATT
+3.3 25a
+5 30a
+12-1 12a
+12-2 15a
im not to sure if my PSU is sufficient

no your psu isnt the problem here if youre not getting errors/crashes. if its your card getting hot you need to look at case airflow and how what the temperture in your room is.

i installed an extra 80mm fan directly under the graphics card and idle 56 and the max temp i got was 86c using ATI TOOL is that still to hot?

yeah, thats a little too hot still. you still need to look at your room temperature as a factor. and installing an 80mm fan under your gpu really wont help. installing a side case fan to blow cooler outside air directly on your gpu will help cool it down. or you can get a more powerful intake case fan if you dont mind noise.

Anyway thanks for the help i will try to get that temp down.One more question in the event that i cant get the temp to go down is that temp dangerious for my card?

i would have to say 90-95c..thats when the chip will start to degrade fast
