I have posted a million of these threads, but I need to know very soon. My grades will be coming in at any moment and when they do I will be ordering my PC.

I'm thinking of getting an Intel Bad Axe 2 975X Motherboard because it's very stable, can hit 400FSB, is from Intel, and their are no gimmicks (*cough* Striker Extreme and P5K3 *cough*). I am considering the Asus P5N32-E nForce 680i Motherboard because their is full 16/16x SLi, can hit 400FSB easily, and is a very good board. Lastly, I am considering the Asus P5K Deluxe/WiFi-AP because it can reach 400FSB, has the best north and southbridge of them all, and is the same price.

If I get the P5N32-E I might get a second 7900GTX or go with SLi once I get DirectX 10 Cards. (9900GTX SLi... )

I am going to have a FSB of 400 and run a 1:1 Ratio with DDR2-800 Ram. I will be tightening my Ram timings to 4-4-4-5 or 3-3-3-8 at ~2.2 volts. I will be running my Quad either at 2.4GHz or 2.8GHz 24/7.

So, which Motherboard?

Well if you're not going SLI then a DFI 965-S Dark motherboard is just beautiful, if you want SLI then I would go with the P5N32-E

Get an EVGA 680i A1, you have overclocking support on the Quad and SLI, other than that P5K and forget SLI

well, I would say get the P5NE-SLI 650i chipset. you can easily hit 500MHZ (80% of the time) and the other times, around 488mhz. SLI performs the same as the 680i chipsets, saves you the cash for the exact same features, if you dont need THREE pci-express slots or TWO gigabit lan >.>

If you dont like this one, the P5N32 SLI will serve you very well. Also take a look at the P5K deluxe, i hear good things about it.

Is the DFI P965-S as good as the P5K? It has solid capacitors but is uses a worse northbridge (P965 vs P35) and a worse southbridge (8R vs 9R).

I am thinking about going SLi, but, I'll have to see how an 8800GTX or 9-Series handles DirectX 10 Games at 1680x1050 (with at least 4xAA/AF).

It's tried tested and true, a known amazing overclocker, it's pretty cheap to buy too

You won't get 400Mhz on the P5N32-E 680i at all with the Quad

I haven't had a good experience with DFI, my friend's Ultra-D sucked and my RDX-200 was teh-****. Lol. (By the way, you select option 4 and then tell me what motherboard to get in your posts.)

About the eVGA: Didn't a lot of people go through 2-3 RMAs before just getting an Asus P5N/P5N32-E?

MHill: What is the highest FSB you reached that you would run 24/7?
