8600GTS vs x1950Pro

Thread Starter
After looking at the benches on this page (http://xtreview.com/review209.htm) I've found myself split between the 8600GTS and the x1950Pro.

The x1950Pro performs a world better in some games, but nicht so gut in others. The 8600GTS seemed to have balance - it performed equally decent in just about all games according to the benches shown on that page. So, help me make a decision.

8600GTS
x1950Pro

X1950Pro becuase it's cheaper. Don't think about the 8600GTS becuase it has DX10. 1. It doesn't run current DX10 games very well at all. 2. You don't have vista.

If you're willing to go up to the price of an 8600GTS, then just get an x1950XT: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102067

Far batter performance than either, and it overclocks and folds like a beast.

If you can afford an 8600GTS, a better alternative would be the Radeon X1950XT.

Ahhh... pow3rtr1p beat me to it.

I would definitely get an X1950XT and overclock it XTX speeds, you'll have one of the top three DirectX 9 Cards (X1950XTX, 7950GX2, 7900GTX)

I have an HIS X1950 for sale for $140, $150 for VIVO card. I can run all of my games maxed at 1920*1080. BF2142/2, FEAR, HL2/EP1, Enemy Territory Quake Wars. I keep 16X HQ AF forced in the CCC, as well as quality Adaptive AA. I use 2x AA just because I can't tell a difference in anything higher at me res.

Nope I'm running one right now. I had terrible performance with my P35 chipset and Crossfire. Better performance with one X1950 Pro!
I'm talking MUCH better performance with more AF/AA
My second one is just chilling in it's box ready to go to a happy owner.....
