You mean require less voltage to OC? Thats only the ES G0 Q6600..

But wow, thats a horrible OC. Even an E6600 can do better than that.

I don't really know at the moment. I'll need a replacement before I sell it.

No. The wattage needed to use the Processor at stock was dropped by 15W, making it run cooler.

WankerFx: Send me a PM. I need to know soon, so I order an SLi Motherboard instead of a P5K.

+1

I want the G0 stepping quad just for the less power draw, which will make it run a hair cooler. All I ask out of it is 3ghz on air, it should do that. B3 worried me a little bit gettin 3ghz on air. I probably would have gotten it with a B3 but do not want it hot enough to fry an egg on it.

The best thing to do is to buy them used. That way they are proven to overclock well.

Listen to mactard

It's an nFarce 680i that the guy is using with a Q6600 and we all know that for a Q6600, the best way to OC that thing is with an Intel P35 chipset.

So just because one person got a bad batch means the whole line is screwed? Common let's not generalize here. The same section you got that thread from has 3+ other threads with results on retail chips and how well they overclocked.

You're right, I should have thought of that. But how does the E6850 do 4ghz without a problem then? (ES). Shouldn't they have the same results because of the motherboard?

Not really, Quad-Cores are too much to handle for nFarce 680i for some reason. The guys at XS with Q6600 said that the P35 was the best chipset to OC a Q6600 and they had tried the nFarce and P965 and the P35 spanked them at overclocking.
