MMORPG gamers good businessmen?

A study conducted by IBM and Seriosity suggests that MMORPG players make good business leaders.

Read that again just for full effect. Done? OK.

The study points to collaborative efforts in such games, like taking on the giant black dragon Onyxia in World of Warcraft (which used to require forty people, or something ridiculous).

Seems like people are noticing that playing games can help mature the mind. Seems obviously better then watching tv since your mind does nothing there, but in a game it works so it has to be learning something.

Acually this does make some sense. If you play and have to lead some battle online ,commanding alot of people could give you some skills towards management.

The same could be applied towards CSS clan leaders too I would think.

However, it would mostly be for the leaders not the average player.

^ Yes it could, but more so for WoW sadly since they have to lead and command 40 or more people for a common goal with many support for each other.

If I ever have to use a real sniper rifle, on a moving target...all I'll think of is leading the crosshair in bf2

Facebook/AIM/WoW are decent forms of socialization when you're stuck behind a computer...MMORPGs aren't a complete waste of time; seeing as how you get NOTHING out of TV (unless you watch Jeopardy/News or good movies), it can't be any worse.

I can entirely see this, and I'm glad people outside of the gaming community are starting to recognize it.

And FPS's can teach leadership qualities as well. Running a team or a squad teaches control, communication, teamwork, etc.

I actually ran a BF42 clan for about a year, and I swear I learned more about organization and leadership than any class I've taken. Having the responsibility for 45 people and keeping it all sane was a lot of work.
It's about time!
