You gain more leader skill while you in Commander in BF2 of BF2142, then that sounds more like it!

If you can raid with 20 other people every night, doing the same dungeon over & over, grinding the same mobs repeatedly, hitting the same buttons... that sounds kinda like waking up at the same time every morning, doing the same monotonous tasks all day (but enjoying it somehow!), having to work with the same 20 people to try and achieve a common goal. Is kinda funny when you think about it. The parallels probably work better for the raid leaders... if you can babysit 40 teenagers through a 6-hour raid, managing 40 adults would be a walk in the park. I was one of the sheep when I played MMORPG's, so it's no surprise that I've become an excellent little worker bee at the office.

Games are forcing more and more teamwork and more thought as the reality of games becomes closer and closer to that of real life. Games like Socom 3 which i used to play forced you to move in groups or suck. People never noticed how powerful groups were but i noticed went traveling together there were far less casualties. And with teamwork comes more thought and more teamwork and so hence the FPS requires much though. Such is present in Socom because you can customize your weapons and you must determine what is best for the situation you are in and the map you are on. Take the m16 with the grenade launcher of the iw80a2 (real name l85a1) with the 16x zoom scope and snipe out the enemy from a distance? Much thought must be put into this decision and that is before the battle even begins.

I've usually find that the jerk leading the whole "Raid" is just some loser working a job he hates and suffers from many other problems like say, a controlling wife and kids that hate him.

That being said if they make good businessmen they sure as hell dont show it.

i would agree with this. I've been playing MUDs/MMOs for 11 years now(i'm 25) it wasnt till i was 17/18 that i started leading guilds/taking leadership spots and i learned a lot by making very big mistakes. when SWG launched i was leader of largest PA(at one point nearly 200 folks) on Valcyn for first few months, but ended up destorying it through very poor leadership skills....but i did learn a lot from it, and that has happened to me a lot...flat out failing, but it was just a game and i was able to learn from it.

Depends. I'm a pretty good FPS player, and i don't like to chat with the 12 year old plaguing the internet. So i'm a lone wolf, efficiently killing and minding my own business.

Great for cut throat businesses, not so much for 90% of job which require social skills more than actual competency...

I don't do MMORPGs.

"you wanna go for a jog man, we can go for a jog"
"ok, but what are you doing with a knife"
"what do you mean, I run faster with a knife, everyone runs faster with a knife"
