Okay, reset CMOS and everything...did the same thing that the guide told me..pressed F6 and installed the RAID drivers...still getting that error. How do i slipstream the drivers into the CD? I heard about this on that other RAID 0 thread that is going on about the guy's slow RAID...i think that's where i heard it from. Anyway, how do i do that? That's got to be the problem, as i am doing everything else right, lol.

okay i have no idea what that stupid FAQ is saying on the last page, so what do i use to do it? Something automated so i don't have to edit crap myself? There has to be an easier way of doing this...

EDIT: Downloaded nLite...getting the xp image on my desktop...

slip-streaming doesn't have to be difficult.

1. Download Nlite from http://nliteos.com
2. Copy the contents of your XP cd to a directory on your hard drive.
3. Extract the drivers for your RAID (use this opportunity to double check they're the right ones)
4. Launch nlite and walk through the wizard (trust me it's as straightforward as possible)

If more help is needed there's a useful guide at nlite's site.

You can actually do an awful lot with a custom slipstreamed OS CD, but to be honest I don't think you need it here. I'd double check your drivers and if you have a CD-Rom drive on the SATA controller too, I'd recommend getting an IDE one (at least while setting it up).

Well, the process was indeed very easy...But it still gives me the same error, lol. I also had trouble getting the stupid CD to load up. What cd burning software do you all use? Nero? And how do you burn it? As a data cd or what?

EDIT: Silly me, i didn't notice you could directly burn from the nLite program, lol

Holy CRAP!!!! Sorry for like 2 double posts or so in a row, but....

I finally got it working! I had to go in and select the xp drivers from the floppy that came with my motherboard instead of let all of them go into the slipstream....i am currently formatting. Will be setting up a new log to show the results of the 1 HD compared to 2 in raid...Wish me luck

It took me 5 hours to finally get that $&*% working :swearing:

Yeah, seriously...this was juts to see how fast RAID would run on these drives...

I am going to put the results up on a new thread as well as the raid performance sticky or whatever it's called that we have on here....a lot of work for juts a few minutes of testing, LOL

Oh well, I'll know what i am doing the next time i REALLY get a RAID setup
