x2 5600+ vs 6000+ - Page 2

Licht doesn't know what he is talking about; he often just says that AMD is god and its better in every way, (he even tried to say that clock for clock X2 > C2D when he joined the site!!!!) especially if he spewed out some BS like that. The architecture of the AMD cores used in X2 (and every single other 939/AM2 AMD chip to date) has had a limitation of ~3.1-2GHz. Sure, you can get to 3.2, maybe 3.3-3.4 if you are lucky but you will see nowhere near 3.6 (stable that is......)

even with phase. its not the cooling; its the chip itself

also did he tell you that it is not quad core? Are you really replacing your Q6600 with a 6000? That is surprising. A 6000+ is better than my CPU and almost on par with a 6600 (At stock; conroe overclocks better though) but nowhere near a Q6600 in terms of CPU power

Go for the 6000+ its worth the money. Ill be getting my 6000+ in 2 days
no.
go for the 5600.
it overclocks a million times better!
you'll hit 3.4Ghz on a 5600.
a 6000 struggles hitting a 3.2

it's rated at 2.6 not to mean that the clock speed is 2.6
