Newbie has a question, yo.

Thread Starter
Alright, so I was wondering: I have a C2D machine, which works fairly well, and I'm not even all that interested in overclocking the CPU at the moment. I am however interested in overclocking the integrated video component, because quite honestly, the 128 MB with very limited capability (IMO) blows. I'm in the process of acquiring an nVidia GeForce 8500GT, but for right now, I was wondering if anyone had a link or two to get me started, or perhaps to tell me if it's even possible.

~300W I think Standard Microsoft USB

Nah you can't do much with integrated, just hold off on some of the games til you get a vid card in there.

I'd wait...

EDIT: Post a thread in the GPU section here and you can get a great GPU selected for yah.

if you must have an 8 series try to go for at least and 8600 i would think maybe something of the 7900 series would be a better choice though

Unfortunately there's no way overclocking integrated graphics that I'm aware of. Also, nowadays operateing systems are capable of dynamically alocateing system RAM to the onboard GPU as and when necessary, so there's no way to increase this yourself as far as I know.

What kind of budget for a graphics card have you got? Do you need AGP, PCI or PCI-Express?
make a new thread for it...

I would suggest this though...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130085

DX10 Compatible just in case, and a good card too.

Would it be better to go with a 256mb or a 512 in the 7900 series?
