Suggestions for AMD CPU for build please!!!!!! - Page 2

This recent thread may be able to help you, although it is young and hasn't received a lot of opinions yet: http://www.overclock.net/amd-build-l...ild-600-a.html

You seem to be in the same price range, so they may offer some good alternatives to your parts. If you don't want to overclock (or not much) then a 5200 or 5600 are solid choices. The 5600 has won the gold medal for AMD processors from customers on newegg and the 5200 has won the silver medal several times. I'd say that means lots of satisfied customers at stock settings.

But don't not overclock because you're worried about the lifetime of your parts. You can put a considerable overclock on the 3600 or 4000 Brisbane and have it last you just as long as stock settings as long as you don't push the voltage past what OCN tells you and you keep daily temps below 55C. Plus, by the time your processor breaks its back, you can replace it for like $30 or upgrade to one of the quad cores that may be fairly cheap by then.

Basically, you should overclock. Do it, you know you want to All the cool kids are doing it. Are you a cool kid? LOL just messin, do whatever stresses you out the least.
