4-3-3-7 1T DDR2 Timings with G.Skill DDR2 (non HZs)

Thread Starter
These are non HZ G.Skill DDR2 800 memory sticks. I've ran Memtest with the below timings.

The vdim is at 2.0v, but what I'm trying to figure out is if I will benefit from higher clock speeds or tighter timings? Also, are my numbers off? Should I change any of the values?

Thanks!

My suggestion, intel prefers higher mhz over lower timings. Loosen it upto 2t and see how much higher you can push the mhz up.

I tried 3-3-3-5 1T, but it would not boot. Right now I have it Memtesting at 4-3-3-5 1T. I know Intel utilizes higher clocks, while AMD runs better with tighter timings, but since my E6600 runs at a moderate 3.42GHz 24/7 with a 380 FSB and 1.28v vcore, I'm not really pushing the ram. Sure I could lower the multi to x8 and run the FSB 400+, but I'm happy were the CPU is at. So I was trying to tighten up timings to get that little bit more out of the ram. I'm also afraid to up the vdimm as the eVGA boards are known for killing RAM and memory controller up around 2.3v.

Thanks for the quick responses!

edit: I got an error memtesting so I bumped the vdimm to 2.025v and running again.

Nice timings! I wish I had picked up the HZs instead.

edit: Does a higher vdimm allow for tighter timings or just higher clocks?

Higher vDIMM allows for tighter timings and/or higher clocks. Also I believe the 680i chipsets benefit from 1t where the p965 chipset does not (bugged).

You should be able to at least push vDIMM to 2.1-2.15 without issue.
