Bingo. Seeing as how so few people have come across this bug (it was probably no more than 10 people across all of those forums) it can't be something huge that nVidia missed. Like Duckie said, someone forgot a value somewhere.

I doubt that is it since it effects ALL the cards. But i would suspect something similar...

yep. I noticed this prob on a couple HL2DM maps where the FPS would just get progressively slower and slower.

I just wish I came across this thread a few days earlier, before I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and vid drivers!!!

My return is the fun I have playing around with the latest and greatest toys about.

Not many GTXs run over 700/2400.

Users with all kinds of setups have been reporting problems, affecting some GeForce 8800 cards, and particularly the GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB. According to users from NVIDIA, eVGA, NVNews, Rage3F and Guru of 3D forums, the problem causes random slowdowns, often halving frame rates until the user alt-tabs out of the game and back in again. The problem doesn't appear to be tied to any particular hardware configuration, Windows version, or display setting. NVIDIA Technical Marketing Director Nick Stam confirmed today that NVIDIA is aware of this issue, and new drivers will be released some time in July to fix the problem.
Mine does that!!!

oops no, its my CPU......

i hope they have a official driver that fixes this soon....

Thats true, I know people who spend like $10,000 on car engine upgrades and stuff. They cost a lot more than any custom PC on the market
