Gigabyte DS3R vs Abit IP35 Pro

I like the DDR2 + DDR3 combo of the gigabyte board but I've also heard great things about the overclocking ability of the Abit. Would the gigabyte overclock comparably to the Abit and is the Abit worth the extra 40 bucks?

Personally I like my abit very much but I dont have or havnt tried the gigabyte board so I dont have a good comparison. Personally I dont like mobos that offer a combination of things like different sockets or different types of ram in the same mobo.

If you are going ddr2 it should hold you over till you wanna upgrade again and by then ddr3 will be cheaper and the chipsets for handling it will be much better.

If you get teh abit I am pretty sure you will be happy with your purchase if you get some good components to go with it. It is a breeze to oc and does well beyond 500fsb easily if you have a cpu that can do it.

Yeah, thats what I figured. I've been leaning toward the Abit because I really doubt I will be buying DDR3 for a long time down the road.
