Just had this today at work, so I thought I would share.
Windows 2000 had a nice user account screen that would let you pick an account to automatically log in at bootup. In Windows XP they took it out... kind of.

Click Start, and then click Run.
Type "control userpasswords2"
Click OK.
Uncheck the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" check box, and then click Apply. If it is already unchecked, check it, click apply, then uncheck it, and click apply.
It will then ask which user to auto login and the password. Enter them.

There you go.

Hope this helps someone.
