All threads are un-official unless otherwise stated. There is no need to designate a thread as un****OFFICIAL**** or any other derivative. In fact the use of asterisks in general is getting obnoxious. If you want your thread to get noticed a simple informative title free of gimicks should do just fine.

Exactly. Also this shows that your thread actually has useful content. If you have a thread worth visiting, you won't have to resort to using asterisks to begin with (in fact asterisks are often a sign to members that you're just trying to get attention rather than putting effort into your thread). Spend some time and planning to format everything as neat as possible so it is easy to read and pleasant to look at and members can sort out any information that they need. A few bumps in and things start to take off quick. I state this from personal experience. Use this knowledge wisely and you will become a very respected member in this community.
