Need guide on P4 2.40C Northwood VCore

Thread Starter
Please help me! What is the exact VCore limit for my processor?
My Asus P4P800 mobo had the VCore configuration up to 1.9V, but I'm affraid of taking risk by increasing the VCore more than 1.6V.

I don't know the specifics on the northwood, never had one but I know that the general rule applies to overvolting that so long as you stay within 10% of the original vcore you should be ok. (considering your temps are acceptable)

ie: if your original vcore is 1.4v then 1.4v * .10 = .14
So you should condsider your safe vcore to be in the area of 1.54v.
As far as the MAX vcore goes though that's up to you, i'd say that 1.6v sounds a little high but ok.
I have a 1.4v AMD64 Venice @ 1.6v and I know a few guys that have run them at 1.65 and they've been ok.
There is no hard and fast rule though for max vcore because it's dependant on each individual cpu.

Hope that helps. Good luck, and keep the questions coming.
