RAM me...uhhh, help me decide. - Page 2

I actually just purchased the Crucial Ballistix 2GB PC2 8500 (1066Mhz), the thing about it is I keep hearing advice given just get PC2 6400 and clock it up to 1066, which can be done with Micron D9 chips....but what they fail to say is that when you clock from 800mhz-1066, u have to relax the timings to a CAS of 5. Now with the kit Im getting I can actually tighten the timings up 4-4-4-12@1066Mhz. Before I bought these I researched for a month, reviews on them and such. They seem to be one of the very best kits available, I managed to buy them for only $130, but I wanted some very xtreme RAM, you may be very happy with the Crucial DDR2 800s, Im probably going to sell my old pair (in sig) for like $60. Also the ability to run a 1T command rate is highly dependent on your motherboard not just your RAM. I was able to run my OCZ Plat on 1T 4-4-4-12 timings up to about DDR2 850

I went with http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?Sku=O261-4918

I wanted to go with something in the 8500 area but then I started thinking about it, wasn't going to be all the much of a gain, especially with my current processor. These should be fine.
