New build !

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

I'm planning on building a new rig after 22nd of july. The budget is rather small and I can't name a $-figure, because I dont life in the states...

I'll use the rig mainly for gaming and watching dvds on a 1280x1024 screen.
As far as gaming goes, I'd be very happy if the rig could run games such as "Assasins Creed" or other DX10 on 1280x1024 with moderate details.
Further the rig should be as silent as possible.....

I'm not sure about the cpu, the gpu and the mainboard and I hope you can help me....

The rest of the hardware is the following(other suggestions are welcome):

Ram: G.Skill 2x1GB Kit, DDR2-800MHz, CL4-4-4-12, black
HDD : Seagate Barracuda 7200.10, 7200rpm, 320GB, 16MB, SATA-II
Case: Antec SOLO
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-520HXEU, 520W, SLI/CF, ATX2.2/EPS

As I said, I'd like to play the games on a resolution of 1280x1024 relatively well, even though they'll be released in 4th quarter of this year.....
Should I buy now a powerful cpu and a cheap gpu, or should I spend all my money I've got, or should I anyway wait.....

Greets luk

EDIT:

I've overthought my list and decided to invest more money:
Ram: G.Skill 2x1GB Kit, DDR2-800MHz, CL4-4-4-12, black
HDD : Samsung HD501LJ, T166, 7200rpm, 16MB, 500GB, SATA-II
CPU: Q6600
Case:Antec Case Performance One P182, Gun Metal Black
PSU:Thermaltake Toughpower 600 Watt, ATX 12V 2.2, EPS 12V
GPU: Asus EN8800GTS/HTDP/320M, PCI-E, 320MB GDDR3

If you're on a budget, the best bet would probably be overclocking a cheap CPU, so something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115013
Core 2 Duo E4300
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128017
Gigabyte GA-965P, I don't personally own but I know people who have had great results overclocking w/ this board
Since I don't really know your budget, I cant really make a GPU recommendation, I suppose just the best you can get with however much money is left over after CPU/mobo

Here's your rig. Leme calculate the total right now...

Athlon X2 3600 85
Asus M2N SLI AM2 mobo 153
2GB DDR2-800mhz SUPERTALENT 153
Gainward 8800GTS 320MB406
320GB SataII hdd112
Samsung DVDRW46
Thermaltake TOUGHPOWER 600W power supply139
Coolermaster ELITE case57

1072 Swiss moneys you spend for a midrange-highend rig. not bad huh?
just add shipping, which should be cheaps since you order all together. You dont get taxed for online purchases right?

Forget my post above then. May I suggest you only change the PSU to the Thermaltake toughpower 600W psu, 30 $ cheaper, and also take the supertalet ram instead. timings are rated at 4-3-3-8, and from reviews, they may not be D9s but they overclock just aswelll. aside from, that, heck, that rig is more solid for the future.

I agree with the GPU but I would say get a E6300 instead might cost you more money but it would be alot better IMO

there is little to no noise from the PSU its your case fans that make the most noise.

ok, the psu seems fine, but I heard a lot of good things about the g.skill ram and now you're recommending me another one...out of money reasons or can they really overclock nearly as good?
I don't want to doubt you Nevaziah, but I'd like to hear other opinions..
