How the heck does this thing come off? I can't figure it out for the life of me.

Ehh, I never installed one of those new C2D stock HSF but are there 4 screws in each order or 4 white plastic pieces sticking into the motherboard?

Or is it a clip on or something?

(edit) How did you get it on? lol

The four pushpins need to be facing outside (making a circle) for it to release from the motherboard, iirc. It's been a while since I've used the stock HSF.

does your fan look like this?

If it does, use a flat head screwdriver and put it in the slots on the 4 push pins. turn it anticlockwise to unlock, then simply pull.

Woo it popped out. I tried that earlier(twisting the 4 pins) with my fingers but they wouldnt budge. so i got a flat head screw driver and it worked.
