i never said i know for a fact that the 2950XTX will be anything. i've been reading all i can find about them since last year though. according to the rumors that have been out since last year, the 2950XTX is going to use a smaller fabrication process, which will allow it to run faster and be more energy efficient. again, none of this is confirmed. if you want to start following the gossip, you can check out a brief Wikipedia article
about them and then follow the related links from there.
the decision you're trying to make right now is a hard one. i have a pair of X1900XTXs, each with its own Zalman. my temps are great, but it's always tempting to upgrade when a new card comes out. there is no question that a single 2900 will beat my 1900s in CrossFire, but you also have to wonder if the following generation of cards might really introduce multi-gpu's, which could be something of a revolution. upgrade now or later? that is the question.
