hey lightningfr... check out the Dell 20" 1680 x 1050... they are an amazing deal.. EDIT WHOA!!! never mind they went UP in price!!!

EDIT #@: never mind... they didn't go up, they seem to be discontinued... the only 20" is not an "ultra sharp" version... so you need to look at the 22" for that rez (I have two) but thay are a bit more cashola at $300)... look for a good 20" 1680 x 1050 20"... they are a great price point... Samsung might be the way to go
i have a 37inch lcd 1900 *1080p from westing house best 800$ ive spent

You are recommending a 1920x1080 monitor for a 6800XT card?

Wow..... I hope I missread something.

I wouldn't recommend anything over 1280x1024 for a 6800XT.

I'm not buying an LCD. LCD's are horrible for gaming and I use a CRT so I can keep a high refresh rate

You realize a 60HZ refresh rate on a LCD, looks better than a 85HZ refresh rate on a CRT?

New LCDs are far superior to CRTs.... Most new LCDs have a 2ms-6ms response time which is enough to completely remove ghosting.

The average human eye cannot tell a difference after 60FPS, so even with vsync 60Hz is plenty. On a LCD 60Hz does not "flicker" at all.

qft, lcd's don't even refresh, they just redraw the pixels that need to be placed somewhere else. And if you want color depth just get a glossy lcd.

yea we really need to see your system so we can all stay on the same page...

I still love CRTs over LCDs... $10,000 CRT's that is! lol LCDs are better right now...

I'd try to buy something like a 1680 x 1050 if possible cause GTS's will be affordable before you know it... but if you plan to keep the monitor and video card for a long time then Murlocke just gave you some great advice... but I'd rather get a wide screen with the same pixel count if they make them
