Anyone ever tried cooling like this and will it even work/make sense?

I am ordering another box this weekend and I'm going to opt for fan cooling versus water. This will be a gaming/multi-media rig until I get another box and move this over to replace my current home server.

My 2 big heat generators are going to be a 8800GTX slightly OC'd to 600Mhz and a Q6600. I will eventually keep this pc on 24/7 and regardless of the split opinions on cooling in this situation I will sleep better with air cooling so please no suggestions for water.

I want to create decent airflow and was wondering if anyone has ever personally tried what I'm about to show you and if it will work the way I'm thinking it will? (i.e. using a 'vent' to pull air directly from the front straight to the CPU heatsink.)
Please excuse the fact I did this in MS paint, but I'm at work and trying to use photoshop through a remote desktop connection to your home pc just isn't fun/easy to work with.

The blue represents 120mm fans pulling air in, the grey is the heatsink for the CPU (therm. ultra 120) and red represents air pushing out.
The yellow is tubing to make sure cool air is being pulled directly from the front of the case.

I plan to bring air in from the bottom and front and push out from the back and top with a direct pull from the front of the case to the CPU.

Will it work and if so, how well??? I'd love to hear from someone that either has this or a similiar chip and has actually tried something this smart and/or stupid?

Also, I've never used 4 fans on the side door before. Normally 2 or 1 very large one. Is my thinking right there?

Thanks!

Can't see why not. Try it out, tinker with the fans. It looks like a good plan to me.

I think the 4 fans on the side, the two towards the front should pull air in and the two towards the rear pull it out because as the air goes in it will go across the mobo since the front fans will push it towards the rear.

Or all side case fans in and rest out(or vice versa) g2g

I was thinking that way as well, but it has me wondering, since heat rises, if I should pull below/push above or do exactly that, pull from the lower/front and push to the upper/rear.
Eh, maybe I'll try both just to test the temperature differences.

I'm hoping with that heatsink and setup I can OC the q6600 to a modest and stable 2.8Ghz on air. I know others have gone higher, but I'm content if I can pull that off w/out any issues. This pc will stay on 24/7.
