X38 coming week 34

Week 34 is the plan

Intel plans to ship X38 chipsets to its customers who are willing to pay in advance in week 34 the one that starts on 20th of August. This means that a lot of good paying customers will have the chance to make the golden samples of the first X38 motherboards in last days of August.

The be more realistic the guys who paid unit today middle of week 29 and the chaps that will book latest in middle of week 31 around first days of August have a chance to have a prototype boards in late august.

The real production in volumes starts in early days of September and I guess a lot of Taiwanese based motherboard manufactures will have to fly the motherboards in the US and Europe to have them ready for planned Q3 launch.

If you want X38 based motherboard you will have to wait until September and if you cannot wait get yourself P35 as there are quite few of good motherboards based on this chipset.

FUDzilla is a pretty crappy website for information, but sometimes they get it right.

And x38 should support SLI, so worry not.

Fudzilla should never be sourced or cited in any new article. The editor of Fudzilla was caught photoshopping ATI / Nvidia results and is a complete scam... I don't understand why people continue to post "news" from there, let alone visit it.

That's right Mike.

And you know why they're right this time?

Because they got that information at HKEPC Hardware » IT News from back in August of 2006.

I'm not excited about this new chipset, it's going to be a great chipset nonetheless because of the features and new tech that it will incorporate but.....This just reminds me of 875X to 925X then finally to 925XE.

925X was revised 2 times before it ended up being an "excellent" chipset, so IMO, I'd rather wait for the replacement of X38.

They must have hired someone from The Inquirer to write their article, it's so crappy!

But are you considering the fact that the P35 is already one of the best overclocking chips available? Even if the X38 is only slightly better, it will be excellent.
