100% problem

Thread Starter
A friend of mine has a problem.

The problem is that his CPU is around 80% -100% just on idle which is very weird, the process list is displaying nothing thats eating the cpu too, so when he plays a game hes getting only 5fps because his cpu is already been eaten by something else, scanned for virus's and spyware 100 times with nod32 and avg so im pritty certain that the pc is clean.

Also he has taken out his gfx card and uses the on-board gfx, for some reason the cpu doesnt stress out and its fine.

anyone have any ideas?

specs:

amd 4200+ (2.19ghz) 2 gig of RAM, NVIDA 8600GT and a ASUS A8V-VM SE motherboard
