Fan spins, no video. Help?

Thread Starter
Okay, all fans spin.

LED's indicate "cpu/chipset error"

I am hopeing it's the chipset.

The CPU is stock and yeah.. It's a new rig I am building.

I tested the video card and ram and it works. Memtest and boot safe....

So? It's the CPU or chipset? Just wondering what could it be. I wouldn't want to take CPU out and then put it in my sig rig

Anything I should make sure? Check. I am going to probably RMA the board after I check if the CPU works..

P.S. I cleared the CMOS and still LED's don't go on..

Alright I'll give you the usual response. Go around and make sure everything is connected. Reseat your graphics card. Reseat your cpu. Try booting with 1 stick of ram. Reset the cmos. If all that fails, try booting your computer out of the case. If that fails, then I'm not sure.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read your first post about what you already tried.

I did all of that...
Well not boot out of case.

I reseated GPU, and mem, and about to do CPU.. I'm guessing if I do that I'll have no choice but to put the 4000+ in my M2N32 board.. If it posts ty god it's just the mb.. Hate to have a DOA CPU.

What kind of PSU are you running? maybe it's killing the system because it's starving/failing? my dad's computer was doing that (having a cpu/chipset error) because the powersupply was shot

I doubt it's the psu. I had the same problem as him with nothing showing up on the screen and it was just the cpu came outta the socket because it was being moved around.

you know you might just try to see what underclocking the cpu will do. yes i know it sounds stupid but I had an old motherboard that would only let me have my cpu run at 2.3 ghz instead of 2.4

and 2.4 was stock. Not sure why it did that.

although it seems your motherboard is ok, even so, id try it just to check.

check the connection of your cpu and mobo as well just in case.

Is the cpu fan plugged into the right port on the board ?
If you boot with no ram does it give you a different error ?
