Switching to Omega drivers on my x800 XL

Thread Starter
I was thinking about squeezing some more performance/quality out of my x800 xl since in the newest games its getting a little out of date. Since I don't think I'm ready to risk overclocking it yet. (Need to do more reading I think) I figured I'd switch over to the Omega drivers as I hear that they are much better than regular ATI drivers. I have a few things I want to clarify though:

Do I need anything else besides the Omega Driver and possibly ATT? (I'm talking about CCC etc.)

Will the latest Omega drivers work for my card? (x800 XL)

And lastly, will I see any difference in performance/quality right away? or do I have to change settings first?

Thanks a ton,

I used omega drivers on my x800gto( the version without CCC) I forget what version they were(6.9s or something) but i liked them alot more than ATI's.
I just looked and seen that the latest released is 7.4s and i dont see why they wouldn't work on your card. You might see some performance increases but the 7.7s will have more bug fixes if you have games that crash.

You can ask all you want, but when it comes down to it, personal preference will win everytime.

Good luck!

I also have used omega drivers and yeah they work a lot better than ATI's, I have used to them with my old card the x800gto and I use them now with my x1950pro. ATI's latest is 7.7, Omega drivers are a little behind its still based on the 7.4 drivers, but they work perfectly fine.
