Lian Li PC-65B

I love everything about it. The look of it is perfect; it's not too flashy, but it still has that great, creative appeal. The quality seems very strong and durable too. The removable MoBo tray and side panel window are nice touches also. The mid-tower fashion has been something I have wanted ever since I bought this tank of a case that sits next to me. The list of things I like about this case is endless (not really, but yeah, you get the idea).

Hhhhhhhhennyways..

My only concern is that the case's air flow setup may limit how far I want to push my components in the near future. The 4x 80mm layout doesn't seem too efficient for a rig that needs a good amount of cooling down. I'm sure I'll be getting that quietness I'm looking for, but I fear that I will be lacking needed cooling.

I don't know, I'm just going to stop rambling now.. anyone have any insight whatsoever?

I have that case the Lian Li pc65b and wow man I love it. Cooling is not much of a problem. The case does get a little bit warm after some gaming, but its nothing that hot that will destroy your components. My inside of the case stays about 41C on idle and about 51C when the computer is at full load, thats with the front intake fans on low.
One thing you gotta watch though if you have a fairly large power supply the top intake fan can block it. But I think your psu would do fine, since it looks like its about the same size as mine.
Meh I think you should go for it, make sure you don't get the silver LianLi case from since the paint feels fairly cheap.

Good Luck!

Thanks for that, glad to hear from someone on OCN that actually has the case.

Man, the never ending choices for cases out there makes it pretty tough to pick just one, especially when you're on a budget.

Anyone else?

This is probably the toughest hardware dilemma I have been in.

It is virtually impossible for me to bare down and just choose one single case. Looks, quality, air flow, noise, wire management features, and price are all the things I've been stressing. I've seen all of these characteristics in numerous cases, but have yet to see them ALL in just one. For example:

Lian Li PC-65B
PROS
- Has a good look to it; not too flashy, but not too plain and boring either. Window is great.
- Lian Li makes quality stuff almost all of the time.
- Removable MoBo tray is a HUGE plus, and wire management looks like a breeze.
- Price is good.
CONS
- Air flow looks pretty horrible - 80mm's just won't cut it for the cooling my hardware demands.

Antec p180B / Antec p182
PROS
- The simple and professional look can come off as boring, but I find it very nice.
- I heard this is one of the most quiet cases on the market, and this is very key. My Armor literally gives me headaches from the noise due to its open-style.
- Wire management looks OK.
- Air flow looks pretty good, definitely better than the PC-65B.
- The p182 has WCing holes in case I want to make the switch from air to water.
- Price is good.
CONS
- No window.
- PSU mounted on the bottom (I only say this because I'm not sure if some of my wires will reach w/o 3rd party extensions).
- Heavy. I heard it gets around 50 pounds when everythings inside?! Jeez, what a tank. I don't really mind it being heavy, sine I don't move my setup around too much, but this definitely isn't a PRO.

Antec 900
PROS
- Excellent air flow.
- Cool look to it; has that show-off kind of style.
- Side panel window.
- Good price.
CONS
- Horrible wire management, unless cut into.
- It is more of an open case compared to something along the lines of the P180/182 series. This, along with the heavy duty fans, make for more dust at a quicker pace. The openness probably makes it more of a louder case too.

These are the cases I've been looking into the most. My critiques above may not all be correct, I'm just going by reviews and hear-say. I used this as a way to get my thoughts on something visual, and it kind of helped.

Anyone else have any suggestions or comments as to which direction I should go?

You sure about the PSU?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...tec%2bp182

Looks bottom-mounted to me.

edit - But yeah, thanks for your input. I've been leaning towards one of the P18X's mainly because of it being so silent.

Oh, I meant bottom-mounted, lol. I have a P180 myself.

And how can you have "window" and "sleek" in the same clause?! If you want sleek don't get a window.
