3500+ Venice Core Overclocking

Thread Starter
Hey, I need some help... I can't get higher than 2.33 ghz. I have a 11x multiplier and when I go past 2.33 I either get the blue screen of death or it just reboots. My memory is at 2-3-3-5 and I also tried it on auto configure for the memory and no luck. Anyone know whats up cause I've heard of people getting higher. Thanks.

Try running a divider? As far as I know the venices love high FSB, try dropping the multiplier to 10 and 9 and cranking the FSB whilst giving yourself a nice divider to work with. Sounds crude but it's how I do it

Also what's your Hyper transport at? The Hyper Transport multiplier should be dropped down. Remember it multiplies your FSB, so whatever the HT number is, it multiplies your FSB and gives you your Bus speed. Always keep your bus speed near or below 1000 .

Well my friend is xrobot and I'm trying to help him as hes only about 5 feet from me. We can't figure it out. We lower the multiplier to 10 and raise the fsb to 230 and we hear 2 long bios beeps and it won't boot. Then it raises the memory to 460mhz. I honestly am lost and can't figure this out nor can he.

you need to use a memory divider to keep that ram down. You're gonna kill it lol. I know my venice loved a high fsb, but i think my ram held it back. I never tried playing with its timings, but now i think I might be able to get it to clock much higher (couldn't get it 100% stable above 2.45ghz)
