cheapest decent Brisbane mobo/RAM/CPU combo

Thread Starter
I know there are tons of threads like this, but being lazy and bored, I am looking for opinions. All I need are mobo/cpu and ram. (and possibly a cooler) I am looking to OC this a bit too. Would like to keep it as cheap as possible without getting junk. Thanks

ooops, I was thinking of SLI. That is if it makes sense to get SLI and buy another 7600GT....

His problem is SLI and OCing quality isn't inexpensive so no knock on the 570 you recommended.
IMHO, his best option is to bite the bullet and get a good 590 chip set MB or...
Screw the SLI drop the 7600 and get 1 good vid card. Two 7600 cards down the road wont set his world on fire for the cost to performance improvement.

Whoopps. I hadn't considered he already has a good 7600 series and is likely taking that along to the new build

I don't mind spending a bit more if its worth it. I want SLI just to mess around with it. I don't need anything too amazing.

If you don't mind the fact that you only get the MB and NO accessories what so ever, the "New" "OEM" "Bulk" are a lot cheaper.
Check the "lowest price" in your search at new egg and look at the end of the list for the OEM units.

thats OK with me. I don't need new cables etc. My only other concern is whether I will be able to get another key from MS so I can use the WinXP I have loaded.

Here's what I would buy, as far as bang for the buck, if I were in your shoes.

Brisbane 3600: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103046
2 GB DDR2 800 Team Elite: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820313019
ASUS M2N-SLI 570 SLI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131013

Total Price: $286

I knwo it's only the 570 chipset, but I would venture to say a 570 ASUS would be better to own than a 590 BIOSTAR. Not to bash BIOSTAR, I just think ASUS products exude quality.
