Was very close to install Ubuntu until.. - Page 3

Just try it.

When you boot up the Ubuntu cd, you can mess around with it before installing it. It's a good way to decide if you want it, but when you try it out like that you can't install anything.

Edit: I have Cedega, and to me it works great! I never got too much into Wine for games.

Cedega is based off of Wine but Cedega costs money. I haven't had any issues with Wine yet with the games I want to play. Cedega may have support for a few more games but personally, Wine is just fine. They are one in the same almost. And I do not know what your friend is talking about with DX support because both do not have true DX support.

Photoshop works too btw And so does Office to some extent but who cares, just use Open Office, that is what I use anyways. Works with all M$ files too.

Look on the ubuntu forums, there are some WoW threads. From what I hear, WoW is one of the easiest (most commonly used would probably fit better) games for linux

As I've always told users interested in switching from windows to linux. Don't try it if your only interest is in the 3D stuff (XGL, Compiz, Beryl). Do it if your interested in learning a *nix- like OS, or want an alternitive to windows.
