Any competitors to HD 201?

Just as the title says. If I'm looking for very inexpensive cans, is there anything with a better price/performance ratio that the HD201? I'll be traveling a lot here the next week or so and would like something a bit more comfortable than my Ety's.

HD202s >.>

Umm...

Koss KSC75s (35s if you find them)
AKG K26
If you can scrounge together a bit more, Grado SR-60s, but that's getting up there, price wise.

Right, right. Actually, I didn't know there was a HD202. It does not seem to be as well-regarded though, so I'll do some more research. Time to make use of the search function at Head-Fi.....

When I say cheap, I mean cheap. The 201 and 202 are both $25, so that's about the price range. Even the K26P is almost double the price, and the Grado's are comparatively out of the stratosphere.

As rave as the reviews for the KSC series are, the fact that they are totally open is a bit of a turn-off to me. These will be for a lot of plane/car usage, and I hate to be "that guy" who is seemingly oblivious that his music is blasting through the cabin...

I'm going to go out on a whim and grab them, I trust Tyll's opinion a bit more than the occasional disgruntled reviewer out there. Coming from no-name Akai being my only experiance with closed cans, (or full-size cans in general) I think it can only be an improvement.

the 201's are better than the 202's

Koss KSC75
JVC Marshmallow
Senn PX100
Grado SR 60

while the PX100's and SR 60's cost double what the other headphones do they are easily 2x as good (although the KSC75's can compete with the Senns... but they have a similar sound signature to Grados and I'd choose the SR 60's over them)
