Raid0 HD dying?

post #1 of 7

Okay so my computer randomly rebooted during the day when I afk. It froze on the vista start up screen. So I tried safe mode and it froze and reseted itself on BTHmngr i think. Could be the bluetooth device...after i unpluged it but would it cause a raid error?

heres a shot of HDTune....random lows in transfer rates for some reason...matrix storage reports an error in one hard rive but doesn't say what kind. First time I ran HDTune after my computer crash it locked it up and I had to reset it.

what do you think...should i be afraid

I am a computer technician at my school.
Those random lows are ok...that happens in most benchmarks that I have seen (including mine). I don't know what exactly is wrong with your computer...but you might want to try chkdsk (it magically fixes stuff)

If you don't know how to run it:
Run -> cmd.exe ->
type follwing: "chkdsk /r" ->
say yes to scheduling on restart -> restart computer -> wait 1 hour

after that is complete, tell us if you are still having the problem

yeah i ran check disk and everything was normal. So I went to sleep and I turned my computer on again this morning...windows booted but when it was loading explorer and other startup programs it froze. It didnt exactly freeze since I could move my mouse but I can hear one of my hard drives powering on and off. Rebooted again and everything is fine. =/

Also check Event viewer for errors. Surprising what info you can find in there sometimes..

I just finished restoring my computer with Acronis Trueimage. Everything seems fine and HDTune isn't crashing on error scan. Hope everything is fine. ^_________^

If that is the case I would make a backup as soon as possible just incase your drives decide to die.
