3DMARK06 Score too low? :( Overclocking E6600 - Page 5

Does anyone use the Project Search and Compare Function of the ORB?
The attached screen shows what a reasonable score should be for his system.
The 7.8k is an SLI score, so as you can see any score in the 6k range is quite nice for his system.

Ronny, some things you should do for benching.
Defrag
Switch your drivers to High Performance mode, disable Vsync and make sure your PCI-E speed is at X16.
End all unnecessary processes, no Im's, no OSD's, no anything that is not needed for benchmarking.
Always run the bench on a cold boot, do not open any apps, run the bench 3 times and grab the best score.
When I benchmark I have 16 processes running.

That score was all stock, no OC.
Do a search on the ORB.

Grunion is spot on, it could be apps running in the background giving you mixed scores.
I have a separate OS with only drivers and benching programs installed to get the best results. After a 3 pass run they should not vary more than 50 points with your score. Also turn off all unneeded services.
Your score is not that bad you should not be too disappointed

Thread Starter
I do remember when I first began to benchmark and overclock, I got scores of 6600-7700! I think the "average" was around the former, and the highest I achieved was 7700.

I went from #33 in my exact computer, to like #9. I want that score again! Something has to be wrong if I can't get at least 6000, if not my old average OC score of 6600-6900ish.

I'll try ending ALL programs, opening up my CPU, blowing a fan on the CPU/Graphics Card (always allows me to OC even more on graphics card) and see if I can achieve anything around 7k.

I'm also interested in buying liquid cooling for my graphics card that would also work for a 8800 series card. Any advice on GPU cooling?

Thanks!
