Which would be faster, Gig and a half of PCI100, or 512mb of DDR 667?

Faster would be the 512Mb @ 667Mhz.
the 1536Mb would be way more usefull though.

Wait...you mean PC100? As is SDRAM? DDR-SDRAM is faster hands down.

Well, you're first mistake is that it is DDR2 667, not DDR.

The DDR2 will be faster, but the PC100 memory will allow you to have more programs open without having to use the pagefile.

Um, no, I currently have two mobos, one in my case right now and another laying around that uses pc100. The one in my case uses DDR, not DDR2. I want to know which is faster.

That is NOT DDR 667. That is DDR2 667.

DDR 667 has never, and never will, exist.

I know they made DDR600...but it was just DDR400 that was able to run at a super high clock speed. So there may have been a DDR 667 capable stick of memory out there.

DDR500 was the standard for most of the OCN community not all that long ago...well AMD users any way

If you got three sticks of working PC100 512MB sticks laying around, I would get it on ebay. There are people out there with old P3's that don't want a new rig and are paying a good price for that old memory.

It would be a cool test...The DDR would have faster cycle time and what not. The PC100 would be slow as hell but have more capicity. I honestly don't know where to even guess which would perform better.
