well actually I looked up the processor myself, but I only found the 4000+, not the 3600+.

Is that ok for overclocking?
hehe, I was just going to say that. The 4000+ Brisbane is a great OC'er too, I've heard. Pretty close to the same thing.

omg that's great to hear

thing is..
this thing is now $867 without the case, keyboard, and mouse...
and then the games.
ZOMFG!!
AHH.

I hope I don't get my a$$ kicked by my mom.hahaha.
I'm technically asian..what do ya expect?

Well, got any other suggestions for money saving?

And I also have another question....

If I were to buy two 8600's and SLI'd them up...

would it beat the 8800?

Absolutely not. No way. If someone ever told you that an 8600GT SLI setup would beat a single 8800GTS..... well they just aren't very smart then.

But yeah, the whole system building thing can really get up there in the $$ department after figuring out everything you need.

I looked at Tigerdirect, and they don't have either motherboard (the M2N-E or the Biostar TForce). They have crappier versions like the M2N-Plus (don't buy) or the TForce SE (another not so good idea). So I'm not really sure what to tell you. The egg has probably the best deals on the net (overall) because they sell more than pretty much any other distributer.

So you might want to talk to your mom and tell her that. You'll save money and not get crap parts that Tiger Direct sometimes sells. Don't get me wrong, TD has some great deals, but some of it's overpriced garbage that you have to sift through.

Well thing is, where I live(Great ol' California) there isn't any tax if I buy from Tiger Direct.

There is however, if I buy from Newegg.

I'll check it out though.
I'll prolly convince my mom to buy from Newegg, since the price increase would be about 15-20 dollars, but for much better equipment.

I'm gonna update the original post right now.
About the memory, would it be ok if I just stuck with the current one I have? I'm fine about memory, and that memory seems pretty fast.

Anyways, any other suggestions?

Well, and you'll probably save that money because Newegg's prices are terrific.

lol, he's got a point.

And Solidus.... don't buy that PC2 4200 (which is DDR2 533 MHz) memory... get at least DDR2 667. The G.Skills I linked to in an earlier post are DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), and a great value.

The 800MHz G.Skill NQ's (which are very reliable) I linked to are $88.99. So it's faster RAM that's actually cheaper.

oh.hmm.
wow.
ok I added everything up both on newegg and td.

it seems to be about 886 dollars for everything(including the mouse and keyboard combo I just added...it cost me about 42 dollars and it doesn't seem to bad)...unless you have another choice..

and I still have to buy a case and psu..thats gonna be another 100 bucks..unless you can help me find something cheaper..
so this thing will be 1000 dollars all together..
wow..
about 150 bucks over my budget...

i COULD go for the 8600 GTS...but...i can't really let this 8800 gts go since i've seen what it can do...
