How is this guy getting PeerGurdian to work on Vista... I cannot get the x86 or x64 version to work as x64 blocks unsigned drivers (nice security features )

I want to see some 3rd party info on this.

LOL! Just hand over your privacy, don't fight 'em for it! They know what's best for you, not you, after all... Why not just give free access to everything in your life? Be monitored 24/7. Why not? You've got nothing to hide and after all, it's the government monitoring you, and they know what's best for you?

It's far more likely that MS has had nothing "done" to it's OSs, but rather that it collaborates with the government to provide them with easy access to people's Personal Computers (PCs)... Might explain why nothing's been done to help facilitate more competition in the government regulated markets MS dominates.... Hmmm?

Can't stop them? Political action? If you can't stop your government they've stopped serving you (their job) and started controlling you (not their job)...

What they can do, but wont for fear of the public backlash they'd get. They won't do it yet, but perhaps, when more people like ClaytonCallihan have decided that it's OK for the government to spy on them, they might well start doing a bit more, you know, when more people have become so apathetic, lazy, compliant and blindly trusting as to make doing more not have any negative repercussions for those in office...

Scary stuff. 1984 here we come. Lets hope all this Orwellian stuff doesn’t spill over too much to other westernised societies...

Do you even know what Halliburton does? You make me laugh. They have NOTHING to do with security, or internet work whatsoever. They basically do stuff with oil pipelines and junk like that.

I didn't really read everybody's post so I don't know if anybody said it yet but.. those guys never checked on XP what they check in Vista.

The same thing most likely happens to XP users as well. In fact, the same thing can happen to Mac OS X or even Linux users.

This is the cae only if your using some p2p client.. People are talking like you get this soon as you install vista. use something like azureus with a peer blocker.

but hey if you love and trust every person that labels themselves your government don't worrry about it, I'm envious of such mindless ignorance.

Halliburton is:

Quote:
Halliburton Company provides a variety of services, products, maintenance, engineering and construction to energy, industrial, and governmental customers. Its six business segments are: Production Optimization, Fluid Systems, Drilling and Formation Evaluation, Digital and Consulting Solutions, Energy and Chemicals, and Government and Infrastructure. It refers to the combination of Production Optimization, Fluid Systems, Drilling and Formation Evaluation, and Digital and Consulting Solutions segments as its Energy Services Group (ESG).
Google Finance

The inclusion of Halliburton in this "conspiracy theory" is what leads me to believe that this is all a bunch of baloney. Halliburton is often targeted as one of those evil-doers of the Bush Administration...

This would be much more widespread if true. The ACLU would be all over it and a lot more people would know of it. Personally, I think it is just a big conspiracy theory.
