QUESTIONS

1a) Is my ram running at 800MHz or 400MHz, as EVERST DESCRIBES IT AS
"Memory SpeedDDR2-800 (400 MHz)" also it says in memtest 86

where as the distributer describes it as 800MHz

IF AT 800MHz - Thanx for letting me know
IF AT 400 MHz - Please see question 1b

------------------------------------------------
1b) If it is at 400 can i increase it too 800?

IF YES - How?
IF NO - has the destributer advertised it wrong or i am not reading the info right

------------------------------------------------
2) The info provided by MEMtest 86, eg memory timings, is it possible to improve it if so, what should i set the timings to?

im not sure about this
i think that 400mhz is the stock clock
it can be overclocked up to 800mhz
but im not sure on this so dont take my word on it

Electrically the ram run at 400Mhz DDR so every Hz "2 data" is transfered (hence DDR=Double Data Rate).

Companies and a lot of people call that ram 800Mhz because 400Mhz transfering 2 data per cycle = 800Mhz in people minds...

Same reason a 266Mhz QDR FSB is almost always 1066Mhz FSB. It's not 1066Mhz it's 266Mhz with 4 data per cycles (Hz).

So yes your ram is normal. Memtest show the real Mhz and the equivalent number (which is the one used by ram manufacturer).

My Computer still Crashes in Dual Channel Mode.
I sent my mobo and ram to the shop they said ram was faulty, and replaced ram, they were able to install windows on that ram and run over night tests so they say.
it comes bak to me, it works fine, i test it with Memtest 86, after a few hours after the test is compleet its freezes, i can test it with 3d mark 06 and play guild wars and battelfield 2142 for a few hours then it crashes, and now it crashes every 5 mins or more not even doing anything just have windows media player open or IE open, do nothing open just logged into windows and it crashes.

i called the shop again first they said well it could be a faulty ram AGAIN!
then he asked that is it our genric product i said yes, he said well its impossible that will work in dual channel mode because they are not identical, i said but the timings are the same, the model numbers r the same, the only diffrence is the serial number, he said well there r still components on that which are not the same. so it will not work in dual channel.

i asked how do i know if that IS the problem, in the future lets say i buy new ram which is a dual channel KIT, and if they dont work will u still take it bak? they said yes these products usaly have 2 year gurrantee.....

what he expalined could it be true or was he just trying to get rid of my complains?

you need some better ram mate
your ram looks like generic rubbish.
i've got rubbish in my system and my games always crash
buy some OCZ or G.Skill rams for your system.
