X-Fi Gamer or FATAL1TY?

Thread Starter
$94.22 for Gamer
$156.60 for FATAL1TY

Is it worth the extra money to get FATAL1TY? What makes FATAL1TY better exactly? I'm a noob when it comes to audio...

I don't really have a lot of money to burn so I'm leaning toward the Gamer but I'd still like something nice. BTW don't suggest Music because I can't find any Canadian retailers that carry it.

I think the Fatal1ty comes with the front panel thing that goes in a 5.25in CD drive bay that has all your front access goodness.

Im willing to spend the extra moneys for that front panel but i cant buy one right now.

I'm looking at the Professional model and it seems it's just an optional add on.

There won't be any audio quality improvement, but the Fatal1ty does have XRam. I wouldn't purchase it based on that fact since it offers very little performance difference and is only used in games specifically written to utilize it. If you're unwilling to buy an ExtremeMusic on Ebay, then get the Gamer.

IMHO the Fatal1ty Pro isn't worth the extra $. I've seen no performance gain with mine. Go with the vanilla XtremeGamer or XtremeMusic(if you can find one).

Get the Xtremegamer if you just want a card and get the XtremeMusic if you feel the need to heavily modify it and make it better than the Elite(soldering required).

Check out my thread at the online deals. XtremeGamer is 50 bucks AR at circuit city.

EDIT: ExtremeGamer is a very good card. Stock, it will have the exact same sound quality and performance as XtremeMusic, Platinum, and Fatal1ty editions.
