paint.

Thread Starter
i will be painting on metal and plastic and i want them both to be glossy but i dont know what paints to get.

I stopped by NAPA and found some "Dupli-Color Self-Etching Primer" (with a pale green cap). can that also be used on plastic or should i get a different primer for plastic?

and what's the deal with clear coat? if I want "glossy" should i get pale color coat and a clear coat or just a glossy color coat? or a glossy color and clear coat?

clear coat just protects the paint under it...like a seals it from the elements. if you want it glossy i would have to say glossy paint with regular clear coat since i think the double glossy ness will just bounce to much light out and wont beable to really see the color...but I'm just guessing cause at my work they use clear coat on all the rims we do. gets to think it will turn yellow...and its best to back the items with HOT AIR....like blow dryer type...nothing like a oven...that will just melt the platic..but would work for the metal if you could hang it....but if you cant...use grease on a cookie sheet that will help make sure the paint wont bond to the sheet and it wont hurt anything...

pm cyberdruid. he probably has more experience with painting cases than anyone on this forum.
