E6750 (1333FSB) or Q6600 (1066FSB)?

Thread Starter
At present, which CPU would benefit me more, the price drops have just come into effect:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 1333FSB 2.66Ghz @ £130
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 1066FSB 2.40Ghz w/ FREE Supreme Commander @ £177

I mainly use my PC for watching HD content, movies, music, downloading and playing the odd MMO and Garry's Mod. I use my consoles for gaming really.

Thanks .

I'm building a new rig and wondering the same thing myself right now. I can't wait to find out.

well..um, the Quad is the cpu of tomorrow..dont build for today, your rig will be outdated that much quicker. What ever benefits the C2D has over the Q4 is only a temporary gain due to software constraints.

Just to add to this thread, a friend of mine has just told me over IM that he would go for the Q6600 and overclock to 3.0Ghz with a 1333FSB and a decent CPU fan.

What do people think to that?

the quad will serve you well and most likely lower than a dual core

Dude, if u got the cash go for the quad. I know that e6750 would be might tempting if a person was broke and needed a board as well.

One (E6750) has just been released and it has a higher FSB. Does that matter?
