E6750 (1333FSB) or Q6600 (1066FSB)? - Page 3

I'm sorry if this is answered, but why are you getting a quad when you have a 6800GS? Wouldn't it make more sense to just get a E6600 and a 8800GTS or something along those lines?

Unless you arn't a gamer, a Q6600 or E6750 isnt going to increase your frames much, your 6800GS is going to hold you back.

If you are getting just a processor and expect games to run alot better, you are going to be disappointed.

IMHO, go with a E6600 or a Q6600 and also get a 8800GTS. If you don't have enough for these I would save for a bit longer.

If you are not going to game with this, a Q6600 and a E6750 is extreme overkill for a desktop computer, unless you encode movies alot or something along those lines. If you are just watching HD movies you don't need that good of a processor. A lower end conroe would be fine and much cheaper in this case.

Get the Q6600 and overclock to achieve the 1333 FSB should be easy with a good air heatsink like a thermalright 120ultra. Good point about the card go with that first unless you don't game hardcore then well..............

Thread Starter
I did say in my first post I game mainly on my PS3 and 360. I do a lot of multitasking.

I also said this is going to be part of a new build, I currently have a broken 7900GT in my machine also, sorry I forgot to update it.

You wouldnt need to if you didn't build your rig for yesterday.

What do people think to that?
yes, quad.

search around for some reviews, you'll see that the 1333mhz fsb offers marginal performance gains over similarly clocked 1066mhz fsb cpus.
