e6850 vs. e6750

Thread Starter
I consider myself somewhat of a noob. But that's why I'm here. These cores (if I've done my research correctly) have the same FSB, cache, and architecture.

Is the difference in clock speed the only difference?

If so, why would you pay for the e6850, when you could buy an e6750 and simply overclock it?

Please explain.

Thank you.

Yes, that's the only difference. People would buy the E6850 for potentially higher OCs, bragging rights, and easier OCing due to a higher multi.

mainly the for the people who want a higher multi so they can set world records

So because of a higher multiplier, the 6850 would get higher oc's?

either buy the E6750 or get the Q6600... the quad is the same price as the E6850.

Exactly why people would buy a X6800 over a E6600.
