What's so special about the G0 stepping?

And will the pre-order on tankguys include the heat sink and fan?
The new stepping has a lower heat output level, so people are expecting much better overclocks with it, I forget the exact number but someone will post it probably before i post this . And yes it should include the stock heatsink

decreased temps (up to 10c) from wat ive heard, and i think tank guys are sellin the oem version ones, not sure though

if u plan on overclocking, id suggest getting a different heatsink, i recommend the ultra 120

Since Newegg is currently sold out, what are the chances their chips will be the G0's when they replenish their inventory?

50%

Their suppliers can still be carrying B3. Unless Newegg is getting a fresh shipment directly from Intel

I would think you would have to wait longer for that to happen... But honestly i have no idea :]

Lol @ the OP, i asked the exact same question with the exact wording in the tank guys thread hah.

Basically it has lower TDP, the max temps were increased by 10C, and it overclocks better.
I don't remember hearing it ran cooler specifically, but one would think if it OCs better that it has better temps, since they go hand in hand

I would get one from tankguys but only if it includes the heatsink and fan. This would be for a computer for my dad, since the spread between an E6600 and Q6600 is negligible (I got my E6600 2 months ago, and have no interest in wasting money on another CPU when I do absolutely nothing that fully utilizes 2 cores, let alone 4. My dad doesn't do anything that would be CPU intensive either, but again, the spread between the 2 and 4 core CPU is too small to go for the 2.).

Heat is one issue that I'm worried about for the machine. So if the G0 stepping runs cooler, that's definitely something I'd be interested in.

@Mikey: I think that Newegg is big enough to get stuff straight from Intel...
